Description	The system processes spools of yarn through all remaining manufacturing steps after they have been wound. Operations performed by the system include - Automated tack of yarn through all manufacturing steps. - Automated removal of yarn from the winder - Automated transporting the yarn to inspection - Inspection and grading of the yarn - Automated transporting and staging yarn prior to packing - Automated sorting of yarn by grade and type - Automated packing of yarn on to shipping pallets - Automated Stretch wrapping, weighing, and labeling of pallets of yarn Major components of the system include: - Five automatic guide vehicles for removing yarn from winders and transporting yarn to conveyors - A powered, overhead yarn conveying system - Two yarn inspection stations - An automated yarn storage and retrieval system, with approximately 700 storage bins - A gantry type yarn packing robot - An automated pallet stretch wrapper - A label printer and applicator - A pallet scale - A pallet conveyor - A PLC type computer control system The system has a design capacity of approximately five hundred bobbins per hour. Average bobbin weight is 3.6 kg. Maximum bobbin weight is 13 kg, with a maximum diameter of 440 mm.
