| Description | In the past year it has produced nylon 6, solution dyed polyester, and dyeable polyester. Over the past several months it has exclusivey produced solution dyed polyester solid colors in the 1400-1500 denier range at a very high efficiency rate.
The line was manufactured in Year 2001 and installed early in Year 2002. It is capable of producing three color yarns or single color yarns. The line includes batch polymer dryers required for nylon 6 and polyester polymers. There are three 50mm extruders, 30:1 L/D, with Doteco gravimetric polymer feeds on each extruder, 22 Kw main motors with inverter drives, four heating zones on the extruder barrel and one on the barrel exit, bottom loading spin beam with dedicated electric boiler for DowTherm type heating fluid, cross flow quench cabinet with dedicated chiller, finish application system, heated draw godets, texturing jets, cooling drum, six auto change Winco Model 3001 winders with carpet tube take-up, and a complete electrical control system. Voltage is 480 volts/3 phase/60 cycles.
The line is currently operating on a 24/7 basis with one operator. Output over the past several months producing nylon 6 and polyester(PET), running 1400 and 1500 denier single color bcf yarns has averaged approximately 5,500 pounds per 24 hours, which corresponds to an annual capacity of over 1.900 million pounds per year on a 50 week year. |
